r.i.p
this is my dog, dee. she used to be a racing greyhound at the romford dog track. she raced as 'sheepwalk dee' for six years, becoming one of the top racers in the area. after an injury to her back leg stopped her from racing, she was dumped by her owner and sent to a rehoming sanctuary.
we adopted her in august 2011, and we instantly fell in love with her. yes, it was a pain in the arse to walk her and clean up after her. but, she brought so much laughter and joy to our home.
whenever anyone would enter the room, she'd wag her tail or run up to them for some attention. she was so gentle and careful, especially around my baby cousins, she wouldn't even flinch when they poked her or pulled her tail. dee had some funny quirks, like taking her toy pig to go to the toilet with her, or stealing things from shopping bags.
dee wasn't in our lives for long, but i hope we gave her a happy, loving retirement. i love her and miss her so much already, r.i.p dee..
